The Reverend Mycal Xavier Brickhouse serves as the 16th  Senior Pastor of Cary First Christian Church in Cary, NC. Pastor Brickhouse earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree in African American Studies from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Duke Divinity School, where he was awarded the Julian Abele Student of the Year Award; completed the Black Theology and Leadership Institute at Princeton Theological Seminary; and completed the Millennial Leaders Project Summer Conference at Union Theological Seminary.


Over the course of Rev. Brickhouse’s ministry, he has served as an Associate Minister at St. Luke A.M.E. Church in Fayetteville, NC, St. Joseph A.M.E Church in Durham, NC, and served as a chaplain intern at St. Augustine’s University Chapel. Reverend Brickhouse is an active volunteer in the community and currently serves as a member of the Cary Coalition of Wake County Habitat for Humanity, Building Bridges of the Cary Police Department, and the Western Regional Community Advisory Committee of Wake County Human Services.  Reverend Brickhouse is the Director of Alumni Relations at Duke Divinity School.

Pastor Brickhouse has published several pieces including works in The Christian Recorder, the oldest existing periodical published by African Americans in the United States. Rev. Mycal Brickhouse is married to the lovely Kristin McCullough Brickhouse and together they are the proud parents of Micah K. Brickhouse.
